As you know, The Reading Tub, Inc. is quite proud of its partnership with Be the Star You Are!, a 501c3 charity empowering youth at risk through literacy. Thus, we are pleased to spread the word about BTSYA's Essay Contest.
This is open to everyone ... and the winner has the opportunity to be on a nationally syndicated radio show. Children's authors: think about the publicity!
Be the Star You Are! 501 c3 charity announces its Third Annual Essay Contest contest to promote literacy and positive messages.
FEE $10 donation per entry (tax deductible)
DATES: October 9-December 27, 2006
1st Prize - $100 plus guest appearance on the nationally syndicated radio program, Be the Star You Are! (Total value: $700) Your story will also be published in our StarSearcher Express newsletter and at www.bethestaryouare.org. Other Prizes to be announced.
You may choose from the three following topics:
1. In your life, explain how you overcame a personal struggle of any kind through positive thinking and believing in yourself and others.
2. Within the world there are many problems and turmoil with different nations, what type of support and help would you give to the citizens of these countries if you had the power to do so.
3. Write about someone who has served as a role model for you, someone that helped you be the person you are today!
All submissions must be received by Be the Star You Are! by midnight December 27, 2006. Essays accepted by mail or email. No attachments, please - place your essay within the body of the email.
** Each essay must include:
* Author's name
* Mailing address
* Email address
* Phone number
* Word count
* 30 Word BIO
**Any statistics must be documented with researched sources.
** Word Count: Please keep stories between 300-600 words .

You may enter as many essays as you'd like, however each one must be in a separate email or envelope accompanied by a $10 tax deductible donation entry fee. Payment accepted by check, money order , VISA, MasterCard, or PAYPAL.
NOTES: Be the Star You Are! is a 501 C3 charity. All entry fee donations are tax deductible according to the law.
All submissions must be original, and the sole property of the author. Author retains all rights to submission. Winners and runners-up entries will be published on Be the Star You Are! web site effective January 9, 2007. Winners notified by that date. Winners will be listed in the newsletter and on the web site. No additional mailings will be considered.
